Cleaning services Cape Cod homes and businesses actually need are shaped by the place: salt in the air, sand in everything, damp in closed houses, and a season that turns the whole peninsula upside down between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Sentinel Cleaning Company has worked here since 2008, from a base in Hyannis, with insured and background checked crews and a 5.0 rating on Google based on ten reviews. Below are the six services we run, what each one is for, and how to tell which you need.
We are available seven days a week from 7am to 9pm, including evenings, which is what makes closing day cleanings, Saturday rental turnovers, and after hours commercial work possible. Priscilla Barbosa leads the team, and if you call the number on this page you will reach the people who do the work.
The six cleaning services Cape Cod properties use most
We also handle post construction cleanups and recurring maintenance cleaning for year round households. If your situation does not fit neatly into one of the six, call and describe it. Most Cape properties need some combination.
Which service fits your situation
This is the question we get most often. Match your situation on the left and start there.
| Your situation | Service to book | Typical timing | Often paired with |
|---|---|---|---|
| Opening a house that sat closed all winter | Deep cleaning | April to early June | Window cleaning, carpet extraction |
| Guests check out Saturday, new guests at 4pm | Vacation rental turnover | Weekly, June to September | Seasonal deep clean, linens |
| Lease ending and you want the deposit back | Move out cleaning | After the truck leaves | Carpet extraction |
| Closing on Friday and the buyer walks through first | Move out cleaning | Day before or morning of | Window cleaning |
| Just bought a house and the truck comes Monday | Move in cleaning | Before the furniture arrives | Carpet extraction, deep cleaning |
| Office or medical suite needing regular service | Commercial cleaning | Evenings, on contract | Carpet extraction, window cleaning |
| Storefront with hazy glass and sandy entry | Commercial cleaning | Monthly in season | Window cleaning |
| Carpet looks dull and feels gritty underfoot | Carpet cleaning | Once or twice a year | Deep cleaning |
| Water view looks washed out through the glass | Window cleaning | Spring and fall | Deep cleaning, screens |
| Listing the property and need photographs to work | Deep cleaning plus windows | Before the photographer | Carpet extraction |
| Renovation just finished and dust is everywhere | Post construction cleanup | After the trades leave | Deep cleaning, carpet |
| Closing the house for the winter | Deep cleaning | September or October | Windows, carpet extraction |
What every Sentinel visit includes
The scope changes by service, but these hold across all six.
Insured, background checked crews
Every person who enters your property is insured and background checked. That is the baseline for lockbox access, for cleaning a rental while you are off Cape, and for after hours access to an office with client records on site.
Seven days a week, 7am to 9pm
Evening and weekend availability is what makes Saturday turnovers, closing day cleanings, and after hours commercial work possible. The Cape does not run on a Monday to Friday schedule and neither do we.
A written scope, not a vague promise
You know what is included before the crew arrives. For recurring accounts, tasks are assigned by frequency so the standard does not quietly drift down after the third month.
Per property quotes
We quote after seeing the property or reviewing photos, and the number we give you is the number you pay. No flat rate table that turns into a surprise once the crew opens the oven door.
Supplies and equipment included
Crews arrive with vacuums, extraction equipment, microfiber, and products. If you need specific products for stone, unsealed wood, or household sensitivities, tell us at booking and we adjust.
Local accountability
Sentinel is a local Cape company, not a franchise call center. Priscilla and the team are on the peninsula, reachable by phone, and the same crew comes back to your property so they learn it.
Why cleaning services Cape Cod properties need are different
Salt. Ocean spray carried inland deposits a film on glass, chrome, and exterior surfaces. Because salt holds moisture, it never dries into a dust you can wipe off, and ordinary glass cleaner spreads it around. It has to be dissolved and removed.
Sand. Fine beach sand migrates from the shore into every room. It sits in slider tracks, at the base of carpet pile, in cushion seams, and along baseboards. In carpet it acts as an abrasive that permanently dulls fiber, which is why extraction matters here more than inland.
Damp. Closed houses, humid summers, and wet towels create ideal conditions for mildew in shower caulk, under sinks, in closets, and behind furniture on exterior walls. Our crews check those spots and report what they find. Our guide to mold prevention on Cape Cod goes into detail.
The season. Everything compresses between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Rental turnovers, closings, moves, and commercial traffic all peak at once, and Route 6 and the bridges make scheduling harder than the distances suggest. Booking ahead in season is the difference between getting the window you want and taking whatever is left. For last minute needs, our same day cleaning availability sometimes covers the gap.
Combining services in one visit
Most properties need more than one thing, and sequencing them together saves money and produces a better result. The combinations we run most often:
- Deep clean plus carpet extraction. Carpet is cleaned before final floor work so nothing is tracked back across finished surfaces.
- Deep clean plus windows. The standard spring opening package for seasonal homes, and the standard package before listing photography.
- Move out clean plus carpet extraction. The two items landlords most often deduct for, handled together while the house is empty.
- Rental turnovers plus a seasonal deep clean. The deep clean in May sets the baseline; weekly turnovers hold it through September.
- Commercial contract plus quarterly carpet and window work. Built into the schedule rather than booked as separate one time jobs.
Our pricing page shows the typical Cape Cod market ranges for each service and explains how we build a per property quote. For a wider view of the local market, read what house cleaning costs on Cape Cod, and if you are still comparing providers, how to choose a cleaning service on Cape Cod lists the questions worth asking anyone who quotes you.
Towns we serve
We cover seventeen Cape towns from our base in Hyannis. These five have dedicated pages with local detail, and the rest are on our service areas page.
We also serve Harwich, Yarmouth, Orleans, Mashpee, Dennis, Brewster, Sandwich, Eastham, Truro, Wellfleet, and Bourne. If you have properties in more than one town, tell us the full list when you call so we can route crews sensibly rather than crossing the Cape twice in a day.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which cleaning service do I actually need?
Start with the situation. A house that has not had detailed attention in months needs a deep clean. A property between guests needs a turnover. An empty house at a lease end or closing needs a move out clean. A business needs a recurring commercial contract. Sand in the carpet needs extraction, and salt haze on glass needs window cleaning. Our comparison table on this page maps each one.
Can you combine two services in one visit?
Yes, and it usually saves money. Deep cleaning with carpet extraction, move out cleaning with window cleaning, and rental turnovers with a seasonal deep clean are the combinations we schedule most often. Booking them together avoids a second trip and lets the crew sequence the work correctly, for example cleaning carpet before final floor work.
What areas of Cape Cod do you serve?
Seventeen towns: Hyannis, Barnstable, Chatham, Harwich, Falmouth, Yarmouth, Orleans, Mashpee, Osterville, Dennis, Brewster, Provincetown, Sandwich, Eastham, Truro, Wellfleet, and Bourne. We are based in Hyannis, which puts the Mid Cape within a short drive and keeps Upper and Lower Cape routes manageable even in season.
Are your crews insured and background checked?
Yes, every crew member. That matters for homeowners handing over a lockbox code, for rental owners whose property is cleaned while they are off Cape, and for medical and real estate offices where records are on site. We are happy to provide documentation before work begins.
How far ahead should I book?
For summer rental turnovers, book in March or April. For seasonal deep cleans, book several weeks before Memorial Day or right after Labor Day. For move outs and closings, give us the date as soon as you have it. Off season and one time jobs are often available within a few days, and we work seven days a week from 7am to 9pm.
Do you publish fixed prices?
No, and we would be misleading you if we did. Two houses with identical square footage can differ by hours of labor depending on bathroom count, appliance condition, pets, and how long the property has been closed. We quote per property after a walkthrough or photos, and our pricing page explains the typical Cape Cod market ranges for each service.
